Sam Murphy is a land use planner working in private consulting, where she helps communities navigate growth, development, and the policies that shape the places we live. With a focus on collaboration, sustainability and resiliency, she brings a practical, people-centred approach to planning projects of all sizes.
Outside of work, Samantha is a community musician who plays violin with local groups and enjoys keeping music an integral part of her life. She’s also a daily doodler, a curious traveller, and a firm believer in exploring new places—whether it’s down the road or across the ocean.
At home, life is lively thanks to two cat-sized dogs and the recent milestone of her sons graduating from high school. With a bit more quiet around the house (sometimes), she’s enjoying the shift in rhythm and looking forward to whatever comes next—whether that’s a new planning project, a new piece of music, view to sketch, or a new trail to wander.
