Laura MacLeod completed her Bachelor of Music in trumpet performance at the University of Prince Edward Island where she studied with Dr. Gregory Irvine. After her third year studies, Laura performed as principal trumpet with the National Youth Band of Canada in Montreal, QC in the summer of 2011. After graduating, she studied with the summer brass program at Le Domaine Forget in Charlevoix, QC.

Laura is now an active member of the island music community and performs regularly and on-call with various ensembles. She has played with choirs and pit orchestras for shows such as "The Wizard of Oz", "Honk", "A Christmas Carol", and "Little Women". She has been a member of the Prince Edward Island Symphony Orchestra since 2010 where she now performs as principal trumpet. She is also the principal trumpet of the Luminos Chamber Orchestra. Laura also plays regularly with the UPEI Wind Symphony where she was the featured soloist during her final year of studies, the Great George Street Brass Band, and the Prince Edward Island Regiment Band.
