Amy Dawson has a Bachelor of Music in bassoon performance from Mount Allison University and has played with the PEI Symphony for 22 years. She has had the opportunity to play bassoon and contrabassoon in multiple symphony orchestras in the Maritimes. She has 25 years of experience teaching bassoon, flute, and piano lessons and has enjoyed writing arrangements for small chamber groups.

She spent 16 years teaching Kindermusik and music and movement classes for children ages 0-7 years. She also developed music lessons for children with special needs. Amy's youngest daughter was diagnosed with autism and lost most of her vocabulary by age 4. Amazingly, she found her daughter couldn't speak words, but she could sing words. Through music (and other therapies) her daughter recovered a significant amount of verbal communication for someone who is labeled non-verbal. This experience gave Amy the insight and passion to help other children with special needs.

Amy is a singer/songwriter of Christian music. She has had several positions and much experience leading worship and mentoring other worship leaders.
