Laurent Beaulieu was born in Montréal. He holds a BA in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations from the University of Ottawa, which he earned in 1979. He is fluent in French, English, Spanish, and Italian.
Laurent worked for 34 years as a Canadian diplomat, with postings to Canadian missions in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. Thirteen years ago, he retired and has since dedicated his time to volunteer work in various institutions. His volunteer roles include serving as a guide and presenter of works of art at the National Gallery of Canada and the Canadian War Museum, where he also organized seminars and lectures on art. In Charlottetown, he has volunteered as a guide at The Confederation Centre of the Arts, the Art Gallery, and Government House, where he guided VIPs during the winter months.
Laurent has also held several executive positions at The Haviland Club, where he has been involved in membership and the organization of club events. In 2018, he ran for municipal office in Ward 1 of Charlottetown.
Currently, Laurent works as a tour guide for Ambassatours, leading tours for cruise ship visitors, and provides private tours around Prince Edward Island through Target Tours.
