PEI Symphony Orchestra Presents May the Fourth Be With You: The Music of Star Wars
Special Concert on Sunday, May 4, 2025 in collaboration with Confederation Centre of the Arts

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE — October 20, 2024 — The PEI Symphony Orchestra (PEISO), in a special collaboration with Confederation Centre of the Arts, is thrilled to present a special performance of May the Fourth Be With You: The Music of Star Wars. The concert will take place, most appropriately, on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the Sobey Family Theatre in Charlottetown, PE.
Under the baton of PEISO Music Director Jaelem Bhate, audiences will be transported to a galaxy far, far away, as the orchestra brings to life the beloved themes of Imperial March, Across the Stars, Battle of the Heroes, Duel of the Fates, Princess Leia’s Theme, and much more! Unique to May the Fourth Be With You is the exploration of music from across the franchise, as well as the classical repertoire that inspired them. To that end, in recognition of the role that classical music had to play as inspiration to John Williams in his composition of his iconic soundtracks, the PEISO will perform excerpts of parallel classical works including pieces by Tchaikovsky, Strauss, and Stravinsky. Please note this concert is not paired with any official movie clips.

His mastery of composing for an orchestra is on full display across the entire Star Wars catalogue. Being able to present this music on stage in a concert format really allows it to be appreciated for the masterpiece that it is, and satisfies Star Wars and classical music fans alike.”

Advanced ticket sales begin on October 21, 2024 for PEISO season subscribers and members of Confederation Centre of the Arts. General admission tickets go on sale October 24, 2024 at the Confederation Centre of the Arts box office and online. Due to anticipated high demand, early purchasing is recommended.
