Glen & Magdalena

Glen & Magdalena – Piano and Chamber Music

Our dynamic 2020-21 season continues with a second socially-distanced chamber music concert at the Confederation Centre, this time featuring pianists Magdalena von Eccher and Glen Montgomery – both recognized as amongst Canada’s outstanding musicians. The concert will present an array of selections including solo, duet and trio repertoire in a range of styles, with guest appearances by Shannon Scales, soprano and William Costin, french horn.

“Taking advantage of the Confederation Centre’s two concert pianos, the featured work on the program will be the exhilarating and beautiful Rachmaninoff 2nd Piano Suite, Opus 17,” says Glen Montgomery. “Other composers to be presented will be: Dvorak, Chopin, Gershwin, Debussy, Schubert (Auf dem Strom for Soprano, Horn and Piano), Bozza and PEI composer EKR Hammell.”

Due to COVID-19, the concert will have limited capacity and some precautions in place in order to ensure a safe experience for all. Masks must be worn upon entering/exiting the theatre, hand sanitizing stations will be available, and socially-distanced seating arrangements will be in place. We thank you for your patience in respecting these extra precautions.

Important Notes Regarding Ticketing

Because of the need to physically-distance groups of patrons inside the theatre, the venue is better suited to groups of 2, 3, or 4 people. If you normally purchase just one ticket for yourself, consider grouping up with one or two friends or relatives from inside your social bubble and purchasing your tickets together. The Centre’s ticketing website is set up to sell tickets in groups of 2, 3, or 4 people, but if you wish to purchase single tickets or a group larger than four guests, please visit or call the box office while it is open from noon to 5:00pm Mondays through Saturdays at (902) 566-1267.

Please also note that due to the limit on audience size, we will be offering tickets to our subscriber base (past season) for a short time before opening sales up to the general public. If you are a subscriber, be sure to purchase your ticket(s) at the Confederation Centre box office before tickets go on sale to all those interested on Wednesday, October 28th.
