PEISO Presents: An Ecstatic Excursion
It goes without saying – this season was unlike any other. Though we didn’t get to hear the sounds of the full orchestra, we took the opportunity to showcase some of the Island’s best and brightest chamber and solo performers. From the Atlantic String Machine and Karem Simon in October, to Glen Montgomery and Magdalena von Eccher in November and Tracy Cantin in March, we are truly blessed to have world-class musicians right here in our backyard.
This April’s finale will be no exception, as cellist Natalie Williams Calhoun, violinist Sean Kemp, and pianist Glen Montgomery will come together to present a concert centering around Johannes Brahms’ sublime Piano Trio No. 1 in B Major. Other works on the program will include Brahms’ Capriccio Opus 76, No. 1 in F# minor and a suite of PEI-themed compositions by Glen Montgomery.
The concert will take place at the Confederation Centre’s Homburg Theatre at 2:30pm on Sunday, April 18th. As usual, since no season subscriptions were sold this year, ticketing is first-come/first-served with a limited capacity audience in accordance with COVID-19 gathering size limitations. Masks are to be worn for the entire performance and there will be no intermission.
