Annual Benefit on March 23rd hosted by Tara Maclean
The PEI Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to announce that this year’s annual benefit dinner will take place on March 23rd at 6:30 PM at the Top of the Park Restaurant at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino. All are invited to attend this spectacular event!
‘A Night at the Races’ seeks to recapture the Ascot debut in ‘My Fair Lady’, the excitement of Derby Day in Kentucky, the glamour of Cary Grant flirting with Claudette Colbert in the enclosure at Hialeah, and maybe even a touch of the Marx Brothers! Singer-songwriter Tara MacLean will be serving as master of ceremonies, and she will also be treating diners to a few musical selections throughout the evening.
The dinner fare captures the spirit of a night at the races. There will be a cash bar for cocktails beginning at 6:30 pm followed by a gourmet buffet dinner, with musical entertainment provided by the Singing Strings and with a few numbers performed by our special guest host, Tara MacLean. Tara is an award-winning singer, songwriter and recording artist and has toured the world singing her songs for over 20 years. She has returned to her home on Prince Edward Island to present her show, Atlantic Blue, that will be playing this summer with The Charlottetown Festival. Tara has also recorded a new album of original material set for release July 2019.
During the event, attendees will be able to chance their luck by betting on the race of the day (a portion of the proceeds will benefit the symphony). Tickets for the symphony’s WestJet “Gift of Flight” raffle where one lucky winner will win two round-trip tickets any scheduled destination WestJet serves will also be available (the winner will be announced at the PEISO’s final concert of the season on April 14).
As in past symphony benefit events, symphony staff have arranged for donations from island businesses, thus enabling dinner guests to bid on dozens of silent and a few live auction items that includes a range of products, services and artwork from vendors all across Prince Edward Island!
Tickets are $75 for an individual or $575 for a table of eight and can be purchased online at http://peisofundraiser.brownpapertickets.com.
All ticket holders will receive a tax receipt for a portion of the value of the ticket purchased. Proceeds will advance the PEI Symphony Orchestra’s mission to provide islanders with live symphonic music and help support performance opportunities for youth and emerging artists.
